  1. You will need to open TCP PORT 1024 and add your ISP Ip-address in azureus (settings) if you are behind a firewall. I had the same problem.
  2. Check this link: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcse/default.asp
  3. I use Norton Antivirus 2004!
  4. 24 Years !
  5. Home sweet home Belgium!
  6. Thanks for the advise Yesterday I did a security test with Shields UP http://grc.com/ All my ports are stealth. But I will test outpost with Leaktest, can be found: http://grc.com/freepopular.htm I use another tool to know the ports that are open and connected http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/tcpview.shtml Very handy and Freeware! Maybe you can check this out! I sure will test Outpost!
  7. Thanks for your reply! I know that NT4 does not support USB. But there are tricks to enable it, some software can emulated drivers for that. Like I do for infrared. (Quickbeam) But the soft I'm using, does not support USB. Maybe I just have to wait until IBM wake's up :-) I'll be happy when we start the XP rollout project here, but migrate 15000 computers will be a long job And finally get rid off NT4!
  8. Hi, For my job I use a IBM ThinkPad T23 with Windows NT4 SP4 installed. I read on the IBM Website that there is a patch to activate USB on a Thinkpad T40 but not for the T23. Is there anyone who knows software to activated usb in NT4? The infrared is stuck (I'm waiting for IBM to fix it) and so I can't synchronise my pocket pc. thanks and regards
  9. I'm happy with my Intel P4 2.8GHZ (overclocked to 3.2ghz) 1Gig RAM with a cheap MSI GEFORCE FX 5600XT it runs all the games I like. I invested in a watercooling system instead off buying a 500$ GPU, I prefer less noise then more noise and better graphics. To buy cheaper I go to Germany. It's a day trip but if I buy enough I save 150$! And in Germany I can drive fast we can't do it in Belgium anymore stupid cops I hope I didn't offend any cop here
  10. I found a nice firewall review thx to www.tweakers.be The programs tested: • Norton Personal Firewall 2004 • Sygate Personal Firewall 5.5 • ZoneAlarm 4 - Free • McAfee Personal Firewall Plus 2004 http://www.flexbeta.net/main/articles.php?...&showarticle=41
  11. Zonealarm is installed on my XP Pro client on my 2003 server i've got Mcafee Firewall. I read in pc magazine that zonealarm gives problems with NAV if the email scanning is enabled on zonealarm. I deactivated that on zonealarm but I did not help my problem. But after all Norton PF does his job like it should be. What kind of problems do you get with NAT? Any router or server related problems?
  12. Hi, My problem is related to Zonealarm Pro. I think it is zonealarm. I'm using a NAT router. The network connection to the internet remains "connected tot ADSL" but I can't browse or ping an internet site like www.google.be. Other network traffic is possible. Connecting to my shares on the my server is possible. I uninstalled Zonealarm Pro and I didn't have any problems anymore. Maybe Zonealarm Pro and Norton Antivirus isn't a good together? To stay secure and not open all the gates to my computer I installed Norton Personel Firewall 2003 since then everything runs oké. Is there anyone who had the same problem with zonealarm pro? thx,
  13. Hi, I'm from Belgium. I do 2nd level support and network installations for the biggest electricity company in Belgium. I work almost every day on my own and sometimes I have nothing to do so it nice to find a great forum like MSFN To learn and share ideas! Thanks to you guys I made my own unattend XP and when it installs I don't have to checkout if something goes wrong. I just step into our belgium nature and go for a walk with my dog Before that I was stuck for one day behind my screen, reinstalling everything. Now I feel better Greetings to everybody ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- P4 3.2GHZ watercooled - 1Gig RAM - MSI Geforce 5600XT - 200Gig harddisk space Running with XP Pro - W2003 - Redhat Linux
