  1. I'm holding info hostage in exchange for Windows6.1-KB947821-v4-x86 edit: ok, i'm such a nice guy These are the updates in this thread people have had problems with: KB971033 not being able to install this: bonus (didn't bother trying) KB979309 installation complete KB976098 not installed (this is the time zone or whatever update) KB978601 installation complete KB971468 installation complete So, only the one Photek said didn't install, doesn't install Okay, cool, glad those are installed for you, but how? I've installed KB947821 v5 a couple of times, uninstalled, and reinstalled, etc. No dice, everything you've been able to install fails for me...
  2. That's good to hear. Have you been able to get April 13's KB978601 and KB979309 installed?
  3. mraeryceos, you have to leave it for quite some time. It will finish installing once it finishes creating all the folders, which will take quite a long time. Mine took about an hour, but I still can't install the April 13 updates, but I don't know.
  4. I can confirm that I am unable to install April 13's KB978601 and KB979309 updates, recieving the 80073712 error on a newly vLited install based on dead0's OP instructions. I'm having it install the latest iteration KB947821 again to make sure... unsure what to do, I'm normally a Mac guy now ( ) and I'm doing my mom a favor by setting up Windows 7 on a netbook she got off Craigslist. I must say, it's pretty slick... if it weren't for the Windows Update problems.
  5. I'd like to see it with Aero on... also, be very careful if you start pulling in XP's DLLs to make this work better. Stay far away from shell32 et. al.
  6. I really don't see what the huge issue is. I've never needed the WAIK, just the 64-bit WMI filter. WAIK-less, I've even used vLite to create a clean Vista disc that installs and activates with no issues.
