  1. DONE IT....WORKS LIKE A DREAM....... As Ms said, just copy the new files, over writing the files on the ASUS DVD, I now have a fully integrated SP1 copy of my ASUS OEM Vista Ultimate I can't see why Ms took it down grom the Connect site, I guess I was just lucky to get it. I wonder if its the one the OEM system builders got ? it boils down too, Ms could have allowed intergration if they wanted.
  2. I'm a eta tester and was one of the first to download the full SP1 DVD. it was in a format just like my OEM Ultimate from ASUS. I thought it would slipsteram with the layout, I've since been informed I should not have got that edition as it was not to be downloaded. Unoficially I was told to just move over the OEM folder and the packages xml.....So if Ms wanted to they could slip it. The download has now changed and its a exe file, so somehow I got an adition that is not available, don't know how, it was on Ms Connect Update. I've wrote the DVD but not tried it yet as I'm in the middle of other things....I'll report when I have
  3. Well I extracted the image files of both dvds to seperate folders sp1 & asus.....I copied all sp1 into asus folder overwriting all files & merging others. I ran vlite to rebuild the iso and on the install updates tab, on the bottom pane already installed updates there all there, even SP1 Release Candate, double click it and it takes you to Ms info page which describes all about the sp1 release candate... so I think I have rebuilt my ASUS OEM DVD with SP1 ....
  4. Its just the lay out of the dvd is the same as my OEM////also its the full dvd not just the sp1 upgrade FRMCFRE_EN_DVD 2.975 gig EFI BOOT SOURCES SUPPORT UPGRADE ----------------------------- VISTA_ASUS 2.550 gig BOOT EFI SOURCES SUPPORT UPGRADE OEM FOLDER OUTBOX_DRIVERS I was thinking on just putting/overwriting the sources folder on the OEM with the new SP1 as all the other files seem the same, its the sources folder thats 400mg larger... cheer's
  5. Hi guys I have the SP1 rtm dvd, and my AUSUS dvd, looking at them they look the same type of format, can I just combine the new files from the rtm into my oem dvd to get a SP1 OEM dvd. The file structure is exacaly the same so it would just be updating the files, wouldnt it ? I am a beta tester so it is not pirated.
  6. Just recived my invite for the SP1 tester, so peeps should be getting them now so look in your mail box.......
  7. I don't know about "legal" but it is for legitimate use.I own a retail copy of Vista Ultimate....and about a months use, it decided to tell me my Key was in use, telephone Ms, I did, it lasted 2 days and told me again to phone Ms, anyhow this went on for 2 month, a total of 27 times. I found this kit in bits and peices and combined it myself. I tried it and for the past 4 months, its never asked me to phone Ms....
  8. Hi guy;s I have a OEM system builders kit which has all the ms-certs and oem-keys and oem-logo's for all the main manufactures. What I'd like to do is Intergrate the whole process into an unattended file. What I have to do now is.... Method 1: OEM activation for during Vista installation: 1. Install any of the following Windows Vista edition: Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate 2. During installation, enter the corresponding edition of OEM product key listed in this file (OemKeys.txt) in the folder Oem Keys of this Kit. 3. After installing Windows Vista, open an elevated command prompt with administrator rights and execute the following command to import the correct OEM cert: slmgr.vbs -ilc oemcert.xrm-ms ‘’Wait until windows pops up with a conformation-message.’’ For example, to import and install a Dell OEM cert for a Dell computer, execute (assuming the OEM cert is located at C:\ drive: slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\dell.xrm-ms Windows Vista should be automatically and permanently activated. Method 2: OEM activation Vista already installed: 1. Open an elevated command prompt with administrator rights and execute the following command to import the correct OEM cert: slmgr.vbs -ilc oemcert.xrm-ms ‘’Wait until windows pops up with a conformation-message. ‘’ For example, to import and install a Dell OEM cert for a Dell computer, execute (assuming the OEM cert is located at C:\ drive: slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\dell.xrm-ms 2.Now type "C:\windows\system32\slmgr -ipk ". Wait until windows pops up with a conformation-message. 3. Now type "C:\windows\system32\slmgr -ato ‘’Wait until windows pops up with a conformation-message.’’ This will activate OEM version of Windows Vista (or Windows Vista as OEM edition) once the digital certificate is loaded. Your are activated! This kit can work on any version of Vista as I've tried them all, retail, any downloaded copy, any rtm, or msdm release, any version. So can I run it in a run once rutine or something lke that.....just to simplify the unattended process further. Buckie

  13. Hi Guy'd I need your help... I've just got a Mesh G2 Ultimate laptop with it came a backup DVD, on it are the following folders and files... file... ASUS.SWM file...ASUS2.SWM file...BOOT.MGR FOLDER....BOOT 14 meg (BCD file, Boot.sdi file,ETFS.msdos file.Fonts floder) FOLDER...EFI 116 meg BCD file, Boot.sdi ) FOLDER...SOURCES 161 meg (Boot.Wim) What this DVD does is runs from booting and offers you a choice of having 1 or 2 partitions, creates your choice, then installs Vista in 8 minutes, after that it asks for your driver DVD and installs them too in around 14 minutes in dos screen if you wait until in Vista it only takes 4 minutes. What I'd like to do is try and figure out how its done so I can do the same with my Ultimate DVD and add the drivers to it. I've read in here little bits here and there but don't really know which files to open as they appear to be code....I was expecting XML Any help would be great cheer's Cheer's in advance.....
