  1. Thanks for the info, I tried running it in compatability mode. Do you know what the registry key is to change?
  2. Is it possible to run IE 7 on a Windows 7 Pro machine? I have a web base site that will not run in IE 8 needs IE 7. I have tried to install IE 7 on the Windows 7 machine in compatability mode, still get error message "This installation does not support you operating system's current Service Pack version". Thanks for your help Hal
  3. I need to create a mail merg letter in Word 2007. I'm using an Excel 2007 spread sheet for my merged data. There are 2 columns in the spread sheet that are numbers with , ie: 234,631. When I do the merge, the commas do not come over. I have tried reformatting the colums and saving the spread sheet 3 different ways. This merged worked in Word 2003 using a spredsheet saved as a DDE, but I do not see this in Excel 2007. Any ideas on how to merg data with commas in the numbers. Thanks Hal
  4. I upgraded Windows XP from SP 2 to SP3. My users no longer see their User Name in the field after they lock their computer and do a Ctrl-Alt-Del to resume. Is there a setting some where that will allow users to see their user name? I went through Services and Registry to see if I can find out why I'm not getting this any more. The users have limited access, but as a network administrator I don't have this problem. Thanks Hal
  5. When I reboot Windows 2003 Server with SP 2 I have several services that do not start including MSDTC. When I shut down the server completely and restart, these services start the way they are suppose too. Any ideas why these services don't start on a reboot? Thank you Your Pal Hal
  6. When ever I reboot our Windows 2003 enterprise server running service pack 2 the MSDTC service does not start. I have to resetlog. I have the folder for the log in the path, but the server dosen't find it. I get 3 different Event code erros in the Event Viewer, they are: Event Type: Error Event Source: MSDTC Event Category: SVC Event ID: 4112 Date: & nbsp;1/23/2008 Time: & nbsp;6:06:09 PM User: & nbsp;N/A Computer: NETMAN01 Description: Could not start the MS DTC Transaction Manager. Event Type: Error Event Source: MSDTC Event Category: TM Event ID: 4185 Date: & nbsp;1/23/2008 Time: & nbsp;6:06:09 PM User: & nbsp;N/A Computer: NETMAN01 Description: MS DTC Transaction Manager start failed. LogInit returned error 0x5. Event Type: Error Event Source: MSDTC Event Category: LOG Event ID: 4163 Date: & nbsp;1/23/2008 Time: & nbsp;6:06:09 PM User: & nbsp;N/A Computer: NETMAN01 Description: MS DTC log file not found. After ensuring that all Resource Managers coordinated by MS DTC have no indoubt transactions, please run msdtc -resetlog to create the log file. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem. I searched Microsoft Knowledgebase, but I found no help there. Thanks Hal
