I have a desktop with a SATA SEAGATE DISK (80GB) the sata chipset is a SiS964-180 The mainboard is an MS8072 Basic install: Insert cd W2K cd boot i type F6 i type S i insert the floppy with good driver (W2K / XP) it's ok the disk formating begining to copy install file here the system requiert sisraid.sys file from CD (He's on FLOPPY!) and i must skip file :/ the same for the 5 files there are on floppy... i skip all (the 5) and it's copying the rest of the install. reboot windows screen blue screen (inacessible boot device..) The main question (for me) is WHY THE W2K INSTALL RE-SEARCH ON CD instead of floppy... Especially when he have already find it on floppy on the first research CAN SOMEONE HELP ME? My cd do not have Third party folder...Is it a problem?

I have test the massstorage pack on an windows 2000 install. All the procedure of slipstream is ok. I burn the cd but at the install after the F6 moment (i do NOT push F6) the system say: dac960nt.sys required (I'm testing on Windows 2000) I have a question: I have sata computers and another with IDE. I have made an unattend CD but when i put OEMPREINSTALL=yes I can't add SATA with with and When i put OEMPREINSTALL=no it do not copy the $oem$ dir... wtf?!

Hum I have some difficulties in english... What is the max size for Windows 2000 SP4 slipstreamed? (i understand 2048) I have made test and i could say: The Drivers contain in Bâshrat the Sneaky's Pack LAN are compatible with W2K. I have read many INF files and there are always say: W2K and XP I can say there are more occurence for W2K than XP

i have made this.With no doubt your pack is cleaner ^^ But this "hack" look great to work with Windows 2000. Ok it is what i think. I am conscious that i loose all track of the files but i have to do for w2000 and the short caracter parameter. I have work on the merging folder and i hav'nt overwrite any files. For files in double i have let the subfolder. And i got at the end about 27 folder i think. Ok i'm trying to make the LAN pack "shorter". Is it possible to put all sub folder in on folder? Like in "DP\L\LI" Where i have 7 folder and no one is in double. I can store them in 1 folder "LI"? What do you thing about that example Bâshrat the Sneaky?

If i have time i will test an install on vmware. Next week i think. Another think: The maximum number of caracteres for oemdriverpath is 256 exactly?

What is a master image? Do you use unattend method or image like DriveImage or Ghost?

Can i see the final result of a winnt.sif with LAN pack include? I can't use the native pack because i'm using Windows 2000 and it generate some error in the 2nd batch :/

How can you do with your pack? You have so many folders! In the pack there is about 100 folders. It couldn't put in on 1 winnt.sif's line

But when windows installing it do not search on subfolder. If i have in my winnt.sif: OemPnPDriversPath="drivers\01_NIC\3com" it will search in drivers\01_NIC\3com\1 and drivers\01_NIC\3com\2 ?

I would like to know if it is possible to copy this great driver pack in $oem$\1\Drivers\* If i make a folder for each distributor (3com, broadcom etc...) and i add the entry in my winnt.sif oemdriverpath. It should work or i have to REdownload all drivers... I have an 2 anothers questions: Why the drivers 3 / B / etc have subfolder as 1 / 2 / 3 Why not copy all distributor driver in 1 folder (no subfolder)? Anyone have test this pack on Windows 2000? There is no shutdown.exe in windows in native... You have to copy shutdown.exe in %windir%\system32

Ok thanks for your answer. For the moment it's just 80GO to backup but i have 500Go of space disk on raid5 and i have to get a great type of tape to backup all the data for the next years. So a tape can backup 600Go of data and of course it's expensive ^^
