  1. Cool, the /S option works. My only problem with it now is it dosn't want to completely install everything I have selected in the setup.avp file. The monitor only installs if I select the control center. But, I don't want the control center.
  2. No matter what I try I can't get Alcohol 120% or Kaspersky to install with RunOnceEx. I am using Kaspersky Personal Pro 4.5.0.104 and Alcohol 120% 1.9.2.1705 This is my syntax for each: REG ADD %KEY%\050 /VE /D "Alcohol 120" /f REG ADD %KEY%\050 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Install\alcohol\setup.msi /quiet /passive DRIVER0=1234bus DRIVER1=1234scsi /norestart" /f REG ADD %KEY%\050 /V 2 /D "REGEDIT /S %CDROM%\Install\alcohol\register.reg" /f REG ADD %KEY%\080 /VE /D "Kaspersky 4.5" /f REG ADD %KEY%\080 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Install\kaspersky\setup.exe /s /n /f2 c:\avplog.log" /f I get nothing at all out of each of them. I have tried various commands for each too.
  3. For some reason my cd now stalls at the Registers Components stage of the Final Tasks window. I nlited my cd. It worked fine. I added a regtweaks file, svcpack & some applications. When I went to test this setup. It complained about not finding my svcpack file. I had forgotten to insert it into the directory. I told it to skip the file. The install went along fine it applied my regtweaks sort of. Not everything worked the way I wanted them too. And not all of my apps installed corectly. So, I tweaked my reg's & app instal. Added my svcpack.inf in. And tried installing again. It would just stall at Registers Components stage. I tried regtweaks alone it stalled. I tried my svcpack alone, it stalls. I tried my apps alone, it stalls. BUT, if I try the install with out anything added just a straight nlite install. Everything goes fine. What could be going on? I tried uninstalling & reinstalling Vmware also. I guess the next thing to do is try recreating my nlite install again & add my extras.
  4. Anyone have a reg tweak to disable the "open file warning in sp2? It's very annoying. If I didn't want to open the file I wouldn't be clicking on it.
  5. I want to find a fairly non painful foolproof. Well almost fullproof method of doing all my system changes via the registry. I took a look at RegShot. It seems pretty much the same to me as RegSnap.
  6. Is it hard to manually create your own *.reg file from the snapshots that RegShot takes? Especially if you do a lot of system wide changes?
  7. RegSnap is alright. But it is bloody confusing to look at the outputed *.reg files or the *.html file. When you make a simple system change & do the compare it states there were like 100 enteries deleted, so many created & other what not. How do you make heads or tales out of it? It's also painful to sift through other peoples reg files to find what you want. And you don't always find it. I made a snapshot on my virtual pc & then done all the tweaks that I wanted to do. And set my pc up the way I like it & added some other tweaks from off of the web. I ended up with a really huge & messy *.reg file. And it doesn't completely work properly. Thanks for any help.
  8. I want to custom setup my IE & OE during my xp unattended install. I want to make my own custom settings in each app. But, I have no clue on how to use IEAK6. Or what settings to use. I prefer the layout of making a unattended answer file for XP. hehe
  9. I downloaded CD Shell 2.0.16b & inside the archive. The folder is called boot, which contains all of the cdshell files. Now I am wondering if I should use Gosh's method for reducing source. Or just stick with Nlite.
  10. Do I just dump all of the files from the boot folder in the cdshell archive into the boot folder on the root of my cd? And then edit cdshell.ini accordingly? I'm at the part of creating boot menu in Gosh's guide.
  11. If I take a beta build of SP2 & slipstream it ontop of XPsp1. Then take a newer build of SP2 & slipstreamit on top of the older SP2 build that was slipstreamed on top of SP1. Would this cause any problems? Will all the old files get clobbered? Will there be any uneeded crumbs left behind?
  12. Is there a way to install the newest build of Sp2 over top of an older build? I am currently running 2055 & want to upgrade. But there is a hitch. When I installed sp2 I accidently selected not to back up files. So now I can't uninstall it. When I try to install the newer build it whines saying I need to uninstall the older build. I tried editing the registry to make it look like I have Sp1 again. But, windows keeps changing my changes back. I have WFP disabled.
