Yes, you need to specify the proxy settings in the Property section of the MSI. Look for ProxyServer, ProxySettings, ProxyPort, ProxyPassword, ProxyUserName and ProxyVerifyPwd

I've used PC Inspector File Recovery with some success, doesn't do CD/DVD's though.

I've found its the same as a CD just create a autorun.inf file and place it in the root of the usb stick.
