  2. Hi all I have some trouble using sysprep with the driverpacks. Here is what I'm doing 1. Copying Win XP SP2 into alocal resource 2. Copying the extra software into the root of the local path 3. Slipstreaming all driver packs (latest version, method 1) 4. Making a bootable DVD 5. Install from that DVD, no probs so far. Everything gets detected and works. 6. Change computer type to advanced configuration (so we can use the image on laptops as well as on desktops 7. change the ide-controller back to standard ide 8. sysprep.exe -bmsd 9. convert c: /FS:NTFS 10. sysprep.exe -clean 11. sysprep -quiet -mini -reseal 12. after shutdown creating a ghost image When I now power on the maschine it asks shortly before entering the computer name for a file named "c_20127.nls". strange thing is that file is physicly there. If I browse to it it ask for a .fon. If I just cancel, the mini-setup just starts... I never had problems, but since yesterday..... 3. Hi all, just my two cents: Besides that work is absolutely outstanding I have two probs using the lastest BasePack It leaves the M1 folder including two empty directories in my root folder, shouldn't they be deleted?? If using an existing winnt.sif which is quiet complex the get messed up when running the run_me.cmd. Which means the BTS_DPs_finish.cmd is not implemented and the [DATA] & [unattended] Sections are messed up. Some lines are even deleted. If I don't use an existing winnt.sif I get all does empty lines. I'm using all packs in their latest versions, the base pack incl. fix 2. Regards shortie

  7. Hi Bâshrat the Sneaky, hi all, sorry to say but with the latest packs the portcls.sys error is occuring as well. It happens on IBM T41, T42, T43 laptops as well as on HP DC7100 SFF Desktops. On the IBMs one reboot doesn't help, error keeps coming up, on the HP one reboot helps. Removing DP\S\R from oempnpdriverspath resolves the issue. If you need more infos please let me know. I'm more then willing to help out. Besides the one prob. I consider this an outstanding work what you have done!!! Regards shortie

  12. Hi, some more info. Even though I get this "nircmd.exe " error, it lokks like everything is done. Winnt.sif is modified, drivers are copied, txtsetup.inf is updated and the DVD I created works without a problem. First I though is a problem with being in the directory were I copied everything, so I opened a dos box went into my dir and started run_me.cmd but that didn't help.. Regards shortie

  15. Hi want to modify file permissions on NTFS volumes and user rights by modifying the setup security.inf. Were is that file located on the original Windows XP CD. I only find it after installing XP, then it is in windows\security\templates. The reason why I'm asking is that I don't want to use secedit. We do a sysprep in order to get a cloneable image. After using sysprep all modifications done by secedit are gone..... Thanx shortie
  16. Hi all, I'm running the latest version of xpcreate (available on GMs page). After the cabs are extracted and checked if an replacement is necessary, I get a total of 12 missing files. Anybody knows why and what to do. Thanks shortie

  18. Hi all, I have a very strange thing happening while installing XP. I slipstreamed with xpcreate (latest version available to public) and the latest xpcreate.cab (latest version available to public), Intel RAID drivers into my unattended installation. According to the log they are slipstreamed. If I boot from my freshly burned CD the RAID-Controller is not recognized. If I boot, the press F6, put in a floppy and select the controller, XP tells me that it allready has a driver. And here starts the strange point, I don't select the driver on the floppy (option S) and select to keep the "original" XP drivers. Setup continous and detects the RAID driver........ By the way it is the Asusboard A5PD2 with the Intel ICHR chipset. What happens here?? Ay idea Regards shortie
  19. Thanx Alanoll, once again I only wanna do it for testing purpose. Regards shortie
  20. Hi, I know it was discussed already...... Is there a chance to integrate / slipstream SP2 RC2 with Xpcreate??? Please don't hammer me for that question!! Regards shortie

  23. Hi, I made a sysprep image which will be used around the world. The sysprep.inf includes also domain info. Since we only want to maintain one image for all countries, is there a way to run a menu at GUIRunOnce for example, asking what domain to join? Regards shortie
