You added one for 976. I get 18 repeated words for a net of 958 unique words as of your last post. There's another category: posts that contained legitimate words all of which were later found to be duplicates. They were not thrown out, per se, but they didn't add any unique words to the list, either. This is post number 652. There have been 20 posts, including this one, that did not contribute to the game. Either they contained no contributions (like this one) or the first (or only) offered word was a duplicate that was caught before the game continued (i.e., posts 293 and 649). Effectively, no words were added to the list as a result of those posts. There have been 14 posts that contained nothing but duplicates that were not deleted from the list. Post 383, for example, contains only the word GOOD which was later identified as a duplicate word. The word GOOD appears twice in the list and IcemanND counts it as one of the duplicates, but post 383 did not contribute to the game from a unique words perspective. Therefore, there have been 34 non-productive posts and 618 productive posts so far.

TINE was already used in post 608 between SINE and TIME. But RODE was already used in post 611 between BODE and RODS and I think that takes us back to LODE. Next word: LOBE

I'm surprised that out of 456,976 four-letter combinations, there are so few actual words. We're far from 1,000 words and it's getting harder and harder to find the next word that isn't a dead end. I don't want to be the one who plays that last word and ends the game. LAMB

The following opinion is that of the poster and not necessarily that of the forum or its membership. A word pluralized to fit into a sentence is acceptable as long as the singular form is a valid four-letter word and is not changed when pluralized, except to add an S or ES. KINK is a valid word, so using KINKs in a sentence, in my opinion, is okay. As much as I hate to admit it, assuming all of the words are legitimate words, I'll concede that you beat my 13-word sentence. However: I find that when cooking CARP it's best to wrap it in a TARP so it doesn't WARP although I'd still be WARY if the temperature should VARY VERY much because your wife might exclaim a VERB or two before you apply that special HERB of HERS which wouldn't make you much of a HERO to the HERD HERE if they meant to HIRE you to serve HARE instead of that fishy WARE you cooked on a WIRE over an open FIRE.

Junk has already been used (see post 441), but it is filling up with GUNK. (So that's CONK BONK BUNK GUNK.)

I was going to tell you about the limb of a lime tree, but you beat me to it. So: One CENT won't make a DENT in the DEBT I have for all of the DEET I had to buy for my new DIET. Only five words, but one sentence this time. I'll work on something longer next time.

Last night, I noticed my neighbor. She TANS often in her yard. Knowing she had a few FANS, I invited them over for some CANS of beer. By the time they got here, she was SANS her top. I couldn't believe what these SONS of dogs did then. It brought me to SOBS watching these SOTS carry on like that. They obviously have the HOTS for the lady. At least they kept their HATS on. Later we decided to get some EATS. I had OATS which weren't very good, so I gave them to my CATS. Some of them wanted to get in their CARS and go out to some BARS. But, I said, we have a BARE BABE across the street. I guess she was beginning to BAKE, though, because she eventually wandered off to swim in the LAKE. The whole evening was really pretty LAME. Things were pretty TAME after the departure of the DAME. I don't mean to make your spirits all DAMP, but I had to DUMP as many words as I could into this post.
