I generally use WMP10.exe /Q:A /R:N in my Svcpack.inf file & it works fine all the time accept that at t-13 i get a warning msg that system restore is Disabled. Can this nag be avoided ? using the SVCPACK.inf method Can i use this Switch WMP10.exe /Q:A /R:N /C:"setup_wm.exe /DisallowSystemRestore /Q:A /R:N" this /C:"setup_wm.exe is the extracted file right ? hi Can u geeks pls discuss abt AMD Cool'n'Quiet issues. i checked some sites threads where they had probs that CnQ rapidly changes the Voltage for the Processor thus putting sudden abrupt loads on PSU which can result in PS failure. some other sites i read abt some Software incompatibilities with CnQ also I wanted 2nd opinion abt these issues from u guyz. i just switched from a P4 3 ghz to a 3000+ & one of the biggest issues was that i wanted a calm n Quiet Pc when i m not gaming. My comp is always on -- 24/7 (if No load shading is done) since it serves as a server to 50 odd comps on my LAN & constant downloads from interent too. My pentuim used to grunge all the time whether im gaming or its left alone I guess what CnQ implies is really fascinating. when my comp is simply on for some Downloads & uploads, it sh;d be running at its bare minimum needed, so power is also saved & less of heat is dissipated enhancing life of all the inbound peripherals. But then, it sh;d not be a Pain in the a** also as i dont want any of my functionalities ( hardware or software ) to suffer just because of it. I got very Crucial DATA & other things since i have limited knowledge abt AMD at the moment i w'd request u to explain abt it Got an Asus A8N-E by the way running an AMD64 3000+ winchester with 1 gb hynix & 3 x 250gb seagate SATA HDD's Regards

I use winzip for zipping & winrar for extracting files on my machine & know how to make an unattended install of each of them. but i have not been able to make the REG settings unattendedly that i feel like keeping for each of the appz regarding the integration in Explorer Attached are the settings i like to keep for each of them. I want the Following Filetypes to be assciated to run with the Amovie OCX control 1.DAT 2.Mpg 3.Avi 4.Mp3 I made some attempts to make the REG File but it fails to run properly on a Second machine. this is the Syntax of theOCX to be used with the File Type Association. does DC really need to be installed ?? I just have my DC+ installed in E:\DC++ after any Clean install -- i just run the DC from there & it starts its connections & work -- Never had trouble with that so why not go that way

is there a way to put Device manager & Serivces applet into the Context menu of My Computer ? I have an Asus P5GD1-VM MotherBoard Which has the " Realtek ALC861 8 Channel Codec" as the Sound Card. I am making a XP bootable CD for my Board & want to install the Sound Drivers Unattendedly, But what im thinking of is that this Driver Requires an Update "kb835221" i.e Microsoft High Definition Audio Driver Package to be installed prior to Device driver installation of the Sound Card. The Sound Card is just detected as a PCI Device in the Devce manager & it wont accept the WDM Drivers provided in the Realtek driver Folder until i install the kb835221update. After this Sound card is detected & installed as Microsoft High Definition Audio in the Device manager. Then i right click it & update this Driver with the WDM Provided from Realtek. I think that this update can be installed using the svcpack.inf File, but that happens at the t-13 time of the setup, while the Device Drivers are installed much before that. So this is kindof an Ambiguos situation. Pls someone try solving this out Thx Gagan Pal

No, The Device manager is just clean -- & shows my ITE 8211 raid cotroller under the SCSI & Raid section.. So what sh;d i conclude? is it that the Drivers were true plug n play ??

thx a Million Ryan for pointing that small Mistake Out-- Actually i was copying both .sys & .sy_ files ( to be safe) & was creating an Erroneous Condition. Given iteatapi.sys = 1,,,,,,_x,4,1 into the txtsetup.sif & copied the cabbed iteatapi.sy_ into the \i386 & was done. Only one this i was Wondering was that i had read a lot of times(even greenmachine's Guide) that it isinsisted to include raid drivers into $OEM$ structure & using a Winnt.sif file to point to drivers path, else the text mode runs Fine but it fails at the GUI mode of Setup-- But my CD just went Flawless without a Single Hitch.. Can anyone Explain that ?? I dont use any Answer file -- just edited the txtsetup.sif & copied the iteatapi.sy_ file into I386. is that normally enough for other Raid drivers as well -- like Intel ich6 Sata.

No --- No midifications at all after this Post i put iteatapi.sys in the DRVINDEX.inf & d1, iteatapi.sys in the DOSNET.inf Still i get the same Error Any ideas ?

start using XP SP2 --- just use XP setup with SP2 integrated (Slipstreamed) & u come to end of all these Exploitable Versions of Worms. Else Cancer10 -- just search the MS site for the Filenames that i described to u in my earlier reply. Very prominent so u will find them easily

Readiosys is Exactly Right!!! The symptoms u have described are of Blaster / sasser Worm . It disables Cut/copy/paste of Anything.. Just patch ur System properly with the 823890 & 835732 hotfixes & it will be set ok I also recommend u using Hijackthis -- Can u send a Log / Print Screen of the Task manager Just check it is not Running "svohost.exe" -- carefully -- svchost is ok but svOhost is trojan

I have got SP1 beta for windows 2003 server but could not Slpstream it. It gave me error " Integrated install Failed. The destination contains an evaluation copy of Windows" Currently i have the Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition Evaluation Copy. Build 3790 --Free Downloaded from MS website After a lil bit of searching i saw u can't apply / Slipstream sp1 on builds prior to "3790 B" Is my Version Slipstreamable ? Any Workarounds ???? is there any other updated Version of 2k3 --Paid/free later than my Build?
