Yes my school uses a system called 'Securus'. When you log on you read the User agreement, press accept and you can use the PC, press decline and be logged off!

I've decided than when this PC next needs an OS re-installation i'll put 2000 on, does anyone know how to remove my network places from the desktop?

I have just loaded 2000 in to a virtual machine and the virtual machine with 2000 is running a lot fast er than the host system.

They were included in my signature until a certain N1K removed it. I don't really know alot about getting specs but I basically have 512mb of ram and a Inter Pentium 4 2ghz processor.

I was wondering if 2000 would run faster than XP. This PC is the one my family use and if an application doesn't load in at least 10 seconds they'll just keep clicking on the shortcut until the PC freezes and then they'll wonder why. Also they all know very little about PC's so i'll be surprised if they even notice it's changed to 2000. My PC is becoming increasingly slow, slower by the day. I've ran all sorts of checks and such on it but still no improvement. I'm thinking of re-installing windows. This isn't the first time I've had problems with Windows XP on this system. I have an old Windows 2000 disc lying around and am wondering if its a good idea to try installing 2000 to see if it works better, I've read on a few sites it basically the same as XP just not as 'fancy' looking. What do you guys think about this?

I have an ati radeon 9250 which I know is an unsupported card for Vista. I have found many ways to forcefully enable aero on the net but none are working. My Vista isn't activated so I'm just asking can you get aereo if you Vista isn't activated?

When I try to update my PC to Vista it says it cannot unless I get an update for these drivers but I cannot find one. Anyone know what this is and how I can get around it? Thanks

Nero says 3 minutes remaining each time even though its takes 40 minutes

I've made no changes to the disc i'm using or anything else. Its still burns CD's as fast as it used to just not DVD's.

I recently bought a new desk for my computer that allowed to stand my pc on its side(which it was designed for for). Ever since I have done this DVD burning with nero is very slow. Before it burned about 3gigs in 10 or so minutes but now it takes 40 minutes! Anyone know why this is its painful having to wait so long. Thanks

If you ever want to flawlessly set something like this up you will have to pay to bring someone in to do it for you. Also Impero is an excellent program to use in a school network.

This happened to me and it turned out it was because I'd enabled high contrast mode in accessibility options which was weird as nothing was showing up in high contrast. Make sure all options in accessibility options are unchecked.

On my school network kids are changing the appearance of their windows and task bars. Instead of the dreary grey they are changing the colour to lilac and so on. Account restrictions prevent you from accessing anything controlling like desktop properties, does anyone have any idea how they are doing this? Thanks.
