this is not the pagefile, it's the stupid volume shadow copy service. Nobody knows how to stop this behavior. sure, you can disable the service, but then system restore won't work.

this sux indeed. always editing through the registry now. and don't tell me to edit using the new GUI, it changes the wrong keys (writes to userchoice keys instead of major keys like ini->inifile)

I am also interested in increasing the number of connections. Isn't there any hacker in the entire world who can do it? All you have to do is find the number 10 in hex in the file, change it to 100 and then update the crc. It can't be that difficult! After all, this was accomplished on WinXP!

whatever you do, never disable the user profile service, don't even set it to manual, very grave consequences, many user settings are lost, even if you re-enable it

you have to copy a couple of files to the C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322 directory. don't install the complete .net 1.x package, it sux, only x32 bit http://rapidshare.com/files/20517270/v1.1.4322.rar
