Hello, I have the following situation. I have created an base Windows XP Pro SP3 image on a HP DC5700 (ICH 8 Sata Controller) When I sysprep this and make an image of it and want to restore it to a HP DC5800 (ICH 9 Sata Controller) it finds new hardware (Sata controller). The driver is in the image so i have to install it by hand. How can i make this automatically. Hello, I'm trying this tool but it doesn't workt. When I select the Windows 7 installation source in this case D:\Win7 it give an error. Hello, I have an issue which I want to know if it is possible. I have five different computers: HP D330 (ATA) HP DC5000 (ATA) HP DC5100 (SATA) HP DC5700 (SATA) HP DC5800 (SATA) I have made an Windows XP installation CD (nLite) with all the drivers for the different machines (including sata drivers). I have installed this image to the HPD330. I then made an image using ZENWorks and restored it on the DC5800. When I start the DC5800 it comes in a loop while booting XP. When I disable automatich reboot after error it comes with an BSOD with an 0x0000007b error. This means it has problems with it controller driver. I have tried sysprep but it gives the same error. Is it posible to make one image for all the type computers the customer has, or do I have to make two images. One for ATA enabled computers and one for SATA enabled computers. I thought the drivers of the SATA controller are already in the installation of Windows XP it should work on a SATA enabled machine. Does any one have any experience with this kind of installation ?

Well I have never got it with SP2.

Hi, I created an unattended installation of Windows XP with SP3. When the PC boots for the first time it comes with an Welcome to Microsoft Windows screen, and asking me for Windows update settings. The setting of Windows Update in nLite is default. Is this normal for SP3 ? Because when I use SP2 it works perfectly. What could be wrong ? John

Hello, Wouldn't it be nice if SP3 for Windows XP support 4 GB of memory or more. I have now 4 GB of ram in my PC and SP2 only sees 3.3 GB. It would be nice if Microsoft could solve this problem. John

This is what I use in my registry. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DriveIcons\R\DefaultIcon] @="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\shell32.dll,12" Could it be an AR Ram Drive issue ? EDIT : I have found the problem. AR Ram Drive doesn't make a volume of some kind. I think that's why it doesn't have an custom icon.

Hi, I'm trying to change the drive icon for my AR Ram Drive. I have used the registry method but it still shows a harddrive icon. I also have rebuild the icon cache but that also didn't work. What I'm I doing wrong ? I'm using it on a nLite created Windows XP installation with RyanVM update packs. Kind regards, John
