Browse on over to DeveloperSide.net. They have put together a WAMP package (Windows/Apache/MySQL/PHP) with Wordpress, Joomla, MediaWiki, phpBB and Drupal preinstalled. Joomla and Drupal are opensource Content Management Systems. I've only played with Joomla so far; Drupal I believe has a forum component as a part of it's core install.

I'm thinking of running a guinea pig install of SBS 2003 at home. I have a cable modem connect, a basic NAT router, & a spare switch. My network config should be cable modem>router>SBS box (2 NICs)>switch>workstation, right? I wouldn't want to have the Exchange server running-I'm thinking that I could let SBS install it then shut down the Exchange related services. (Cox is snarky about running a mailserver on your personal account). I'm wondering if there are any common "gotcha's" I should be aware of before taking the plunge.

Windows Post Install Wizard

I can certainly understand the frustration engendered by this, but "It never worked" isn't very informative.... The next thing I'd try is to use System Restore to...well restore your system to a prior state, assuming it hasn't been turned off. Right click my computer Click Help Under "Pick a Task" click "Undo changes to your computer with System Restore." and complete the wizard.

Safe Mode is Windows running on a basic set of drivers that allows you to perform maintenance on a malfunctioning system....like when you're dealing with a dodgy driver install or any Norton app (save Ghost). Reboot the box, after the POST test, start pressing F8 to enter safe mode. A menu will pop up-select safe mode with networking. It'll take a bit longer for Windoze to load. Once you get to the desktop, go to Start|Run and enter "appwiz.cpl" to start the Add/Remove Programs applet. Uninstall Norton (hopefully) and use the install media for target practice.

Have you tried booting into safe mode & then uninstalling the app?

Another way to get there from here... Open Nero. Close the wizard window. File|Open & browse to the ISO you want to burn. Go for it. HTH

By default, the wizard allocates 128mb of memory to the VM-which would be one reason for very slow performance. I allocate 1 Gb of my 2Gb and it works well. Open the Virtual PC console. Select Action|Settings to check your RAM allocation. HTH

Thanks for sharing, mon! Trying it out as we speak...One typo noted in "Driver is unsigned, not catalog file available." Also had to drop my font size setting back to the default from "Use Extra Large Fonts" so the controls on the top and bottom of the screen would show.

Rats. Using the nLite version 1.2 RC, I'm still unsuccessful. With a 1.2 Gb ISO, when I capture the image in Virtual PC & restart, I'm left with a black screen with a blinking cursor. Using one of my CD sized images, nLite/Virtual PC/Nero 7 works fine for building/testing/burning. I'm at a loss. I guess I could roll back to an earlier version of nLite and see if that fixes the problem.

Using Nero 7 & nLite Create <650 mb ISO, burn to CD, works fine. Create 900mb ISO, burn to DVD, no joy. Burn 3 times burns using 2 different DVD media, XP install fails during the file copy stage-can't read file thus and so. It's never the same file that can't be read. @TrickyTwista To burn an ISO, I start nero, select File|Open & browse to the file. I usually selectthe slowest possible speed & burn it. Perhaps clubcdfreaks would be a more appropriate venue for my questions.

I've nLitened by XP CD successfully many times when burning to CD. I added a boatload of apps and had nLite make my ISO. I've made 3 DVD coasters in a row I'm hoping there's some DVD burning gurus around: Should I point the finger first at media or my HP640 DVD burner? I seem to remember that happening some time ago-IIRC I just took ownership of the file & deleted it. I had/have no Earthly idea why they weren't cleaned up in the first place.

Have you tried booting into safe mode and backing up the datato a different partition/external drive? I'd agree with BigBrit-make a Barts PE CD. Use it to back up yer data-because if it were me I'd be nuking that install and starting fresh. Good Luck Gambate Bonne Chance

VBA may be stored in the workbook itself. Another location is the Personal Macro Workbook, a hidden workbook named "personal.xls" (saved in the XLStart directory at "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\XLSTART"). A third option is to set up the workbook with the data in one workbook that references code in another workbook, sorta like a split database.

We have a SBS2003 dc and are adding a Svr2003 Standard member server to our domain. The member server will host a custom database app. I need to allow the developer of the db app remote admin rights on the mbr server (connecting via Remote Desktop), but exclude him from our main server. The connect will be through a Cisco VPN tunnel. Any guidance will be VERY greatly appreciated.

The procedure in the Unattended Install Guide works for me.

I have an external USB drive that I connect on my XP workstation (SBS2003 server). I have a shared folder on the drive. Sometimes when I disconnect/reconnect, the share is lost and I have to set it up again. Does anyone have any ideas why this may be? The intermittant nature of the loss concerns me-should I be relying on this for a data backup? TIA Kirby

From the Help file entry "Attach a file or message to an e-mail message" : That's not the end of the story however. I use HTML emails in Outlook 2003; the Insert|File menu option adds the Atch line below the subject. Using the Insert|Picture menu option will insert the file into the body of the message. HTH
