the drive works on my computer but not in VMware... probably i have to do some changes to settings... time to google. but i will try using a real CD to boot BartPE soon. i can also install BartPE on HDD and boot from HDD isit?

my exams are ending soon, although i still haven't even managed to make a truly automated install of programs, i hope to learn to do that, and from a HDD if possible. theres multi boot DVD surely there can be multi boot HDD? can the Multi boot DVD guide be used in a HDD?

but what are using? a super comp?
my comp 1 of them is a 5yr old pc with intel p4 2.4GHz with only 768 MB of DDR1 RAM! this is bad! but i have another new 1 which is better ...

i have quite a few fonts i hope to use but i know that putting them in the fonts folder will lag my startup especially if its alot, how do i manage this? the main programs i use are office and photoshop dreameaver all that. for adobe, i can put them in program files/common files/adobe ... but can i like have the fonts somewhere where all programs can use?

but how do i use that?
like for some progs, like adobe, and ad-aware 2007 the installer is called "unknown" but looks like i can still get the switch with some tool, how do i do that?

this might be a big request but how to know how to install this progs silently. i alread have some idea for some installers with the help of USSF. if there is any errors tell me.

somehow my school, a Pre-University (big organisation) can have viruses floating around school networks infecting thumb drives and HDDs is there a protable Anti-Virus for HDDs? the virus/trijan is achi.htm, achi.dll or achi.vbs. and i am very scared of plugging in my HDD into my comp(home) for fear of viruses...

updates can be slip streamed, what about programs? problem with Post installs is it makes the install process long after windows files are installed. think if we can slipstream programs it will speed things up overall

nLite can do a custom program files folder but that i feel that doesn't fulfill what i want. to organize my programs. not the windows installed programs. how do i do it?

bonestonne, same as u i am already using XP - nLited, Ad-Aware, COMODO, Avast! its still abit laggy, guess its a 5 yr old PC afterall, what i do usually is to reformat. it speed things up quite alot. but its time consuming - the software installation parts, will do a Disk Image the next time i format.

Directory Than Right Click explorer.exe and than hit copy
4:\ Go Back to %systemdrive%:\WHATEVER
right click and paste explorer.exe
5:\ Open Resource Hacker And Open %systemdrive%:\WHATEVER\explorer.exe
6:\ Than Expand The Folder Called String Table
7:\ Than Expand String Table\37\1033
1033 is where the string you want to edit.

i know the 1 at TweakXP using a NULL shortcut but is there a way to make a "real" 1? the one when mouse over does nothing? the null 1 will become blue and when clicked, brings me to "C:\" or isit desktop for me somehow.

ya what do u all use? Stardock's ObjectDock? Yz Dock? or what? my experience with Object dock is that it crashes (seems to dissappear sometimes when XP crashes/lagged.) what will also not affect performance too much.

yup i am.... funny.... for so long i cant dl files from rapidshare....
it brings me to a page with the message saying "Download session invalid." as quoted above

can i use CDshell for a HDD? i am thinking of using a USB HDD to install XP from. a DVD might not be big enuf for programs to go into.
and also i seem to be missing winnt32.exe in i386 folder, isit bacause i removed "manual install & upgrage" in nLite? can i get it back? or must i redo the XP in nLite
