big gie can you run this with diskpart for partitioning a cmd

I'm using the 2k3 CD........not xp then i get the error after it finds the d: and i clik next

Do I just put these files on a CD and it will be bootable..... I'm very confused on how this work.... help to stay insane...

Yes Alanoll I have to do if before the "blue screen" which puts it back at the dos prompt.. i know there are a few tools that say they work but i'm not sure where to put them in at? Can Pyron can you lean a hand to where to put in the cmd's ? Diskpart: will allow me to cut it up and then I'll allow windows to see the first active partition of 20GB only.....then if I have to i'll use windows MMC once the box it up to cut the other two in? Diskpart is a free tool from MS so I can test it if I can find the place where to put the cmd's or add a look at this txt file?

Ok.. I have a full unatted install that works great..... but the drives are 80Gb so I want to cut them up into 20, 20, 40 on the fly as well........ before windows start to load to that the first partition is the active one and therefore windows will install in that partition only?

Is there a way to run Diskpart on the unattend side? you have to run this tool at a cmd prompt and with Pyron's way not sure how to do that with an unattend. just wondering how hard that would be or if it's possible? diskpart is a free tool from MS for win2003 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/tools/new/diskpart-o.asp)

They are not modified.........straight off the CD to the HDD...... so are you saying i can't run bartPE from a 2000 pro workstation?

I don't understand the sysprep...... can i just add the disk [diskconfig] to my winnt.sif file? if so, where top/bottom? i have Bart PE and point it the i386 folder.......which has setupldr.bin in it but Bart PE doesn't see it?

do i need to partition before windows starts.....? if so how.... winnt.sif with diskpart? bart PE? not sure i'm lost on this partitioning things...

i want to do is partiton a drive, only before 2003 server i have everything working (thnks to Pyron)except how to get it partitioned before i load windows. can you help?? NOT sure where to start or where to put files? i have an unattend CD that I can load drivers before windows to see SCSI/SATA HDDs, apps from runonce (winnt.sif) after 1st login but can't seem to get the partition part....... Also i'm getting an error in Bart's PE, can't find setupldr.bin but its in the i386 folder i'm pointing to?

2003 server loaded with unattend and added apps I used Pyron way to get the drivers loaded before install. then use the winnt.sif file for unattend also load Mcafee from runonce section... if you use this way then you can still have a $oem$ folder which copy's all files within it to the OS on the Root 2 CD install look here http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=8381

OK Gdisk will allow you to carve up the disk....... but after doing some thinking and testing the smartest way I think to do this is 1- use gdisk to create first logical partition and leave the rest un-partition 2- load windows in the first partition 3- then use the disk mgr from within windows to do the partitioning of other drives this way you don't have to resize and only create the other ones.. an Unattned wants all of the physical space it sees............

well then............ I'm working on have GDisk do it right now.........may have to add a few things but I have a friend that says gdisk will do it......... i'll have to let you know.....

Does anyone know how or has created an unattended partitions? I have read some things on Diskpart/aefdisk.. Is it possible to partitions the HDD to 3 partitions on the fly? 1-c-8GB logical 1-d-10GB logical 1-e-10GB logical

i would like to load some apps after the install in the winnt.sif file can someone help me in whether to do a batch file or what commands to run and where to put the......maybe runonce?
