  1. I did that and get 54 errors of the same thing just a different number, here's the error im getting: Memory error detected! Pair 66089263 does not store values correctly. Memtest has detected that your computer cannot accurately store data in ram. You need to fix this. I hope your new stick is still under warranty. Take it back at once and ask for replacement because it is faulty. I had already bought it once, and it was faulty, I got a replacement on it, and this one is faulty. It's a Kingston. But thank you for your help, I appreciate it.

  3. http://tinyurl.com/3xat6w there's a link to the error I get, it's a transfer catastrophic error. also, I took the ram out and it works now. I think because I don't have 2 1gb sticks of ram it doesn't work as dual channel, so that's what's screwing it up, and when my other 1gb stick arrives i'll try both and see if it works. If not then im stuck with faulty ram, that memtest said my computer wasn't properly configured for the amount of ram i had, and told me to go to the site, but it didn't help me fix the problem.

  5. I got a new Dell C521 and it came with a bunch of crap pre-loaded on to it, so I re-formatted with my WMCE 2K5 rollup 2 cd, with an extra 1gb ram stick pc4200 I bought myself and added to it, well I couldn't get windows to install with it. So I finally figured out that It would only let me Install WIndows with the ram that came with it. Then When I re-installed windows with the 2 512mb pc4200 sticks, it worked. Then I installed a few games to see if they would work Star Wars Battle Front 1&2, and also Joint Ops Combined Arms, neither of those would install, ketp giving me an error message saying files were corrupted or disk was corrupted. Which are all brand new cd's. WTF? So I took the extra ram out I had bought for it, and it let me install the Joint Ops game. Well I was playing online to test it out. After it work, I put the extra ram back in, and when I play it, it closes out and gives me an error message saying something like sysdump.txt or systxt.dump or something and ok is the only option. Im guessing it's the ram it's not wanting to take because I know dell works with dual channel mode meaning 2 sticks of same kind in each two slots. So Is there a way to disable this or do I have to buy another gig to have a matching pair in the other slot? I have 2 512's in first two slots, and a 1gb stick in the other slot. I actually did buy an extra gig anyways. So that will be three total, but I was wondering until it got here can I disable an option in bios to let me use the 1gb with out dual channel right now? I checked the bios but I only see an option called Memory Protection Technology, execute or not execute. I didn't know if that was it or not. If I should Disable that or not.
  6. Well the comp I have came with 2 512 sticks originally and I went and bought a 1gb stick for it, to have more ram, however it works with the two 512's and not the 2gb wtf? Dell is really messed up. Is there not a way around this, where I can put more ram in here? I called them and asked them about it, but they are like it should be fine, dumb asses.
  7. Yep, I set the bios back to default, and took out my 1gb stick of ram that I had bought extra for it to have 2gb, and left the 2 512 sticks in their that originally came with it, then reformatted and it installed. It worked for a little bit, then When I tried to install some of my games like Joint operations Combined Arms, I kept getting catastrophic errors, and when I tried to install SW Battle Front 1 and 2 got the same thing also, didn't know if it was actually the OS or my onboard 6150 LE card that didn't like it, games are all in New Condition, So im on Vista now and am getting the same darn errors.
  8. Thank you for your help I appreciate it, however it is not illegal if you put your cd key in because it's turns it into a legal os.
  9. My comp originally came with 1gb of ram 2 512 sticks, I added another 1gb stick to it. It's not faulty, but it may not want to install because I added another stick to it, you make a really good point!! Thank you!
  10. I was not condoning it in any way, just explaining my situation. Suck Up.
  11. I have no in the hell idea what they are talking about on that forum, there isn't enough explanation for me there.
  12. Also, I updated the bios and went into bios to change setting for my harddrive from super quiet, or something like that to faster performance, would that effect the install of my system cd's?
  13. I bought a new dell c521 that came with a WMCE 2005 cd, and it had a bunch of crap loaded on it from Dell, so I figure i'd do a fresh format, well now since I have done that I can't get the WMCE 2005 CD to work! It gives me an error, like some of the files can not copy from cd, or there was an error with D:/I86 or something like that, and Dell has sent me 2 extra cd-roms, and that makes 3 total, and none of them will install Media Center, wtf?? I even downloaded a torrent, and was going to put my cd key in so it would be legal, that's located on top of my pc case, but that won't install either! What should I do? I want a legal version of Windows, I am run now having to use a pirated version of W2K3 until I can get my media center working, help please!
  14. ROFL, that's what I have been installing.
  15. I did a re-download, and it goes to the hardware cofiguration screen, where it's checking out what hardware I have then closes.
  16. I have downloaded sp2 from microsoft link floating around everywhere but, I either get access denied, or it will get almost through updating then, quit, and tell me the system has been partially updated, and sometimes it can not copy some files, which I can't remember which ones at the moment. So I am trying to do a re-download, and see how it works out. I have also tried installing in safe mode, no luck either.
  17. Thank you, I had actually found them finally, I didn't think those drivers at first would work, because I thought it was for a different product but they did, thanks.
  18. x64bit drivers available for intergrated broadcom 440x 10/100? I have searched and searched.
  19. I am currently running vista, I have 1gb of ram already (894 is only being read) the 2 512mb sticks of ram I have are pc2 4200 533mghz. The one I bought is 1gb pc2 4200, I have a dell c521, with an amd athlon 64bit x2 duo core processor. So I know I bought the right kind of ram. So is it a faulty one? Or my motherboard, which is an nforce not support it? The kind of ram I bought was kingston, since that's all circuit city had.
  20. I have windows xp media center, and I bought a Belkin Wireless G Desktop Card and Router, for my new comp and my old comp, I can not what so ever get the old comp with the Wireless pci card to pick up my router on my new computer, I have copied the encryption key that microsoft had made for me, and the program that came with the disk, but neither one is not working. What should I do?
