  1. Hi Folks, I heard there is a way of creating a restore DVD for our customers with Windows Vista on it. I have found a file restore but that is not what I mean. What my supervisor wants me to do is to install Vista on the customers machine and after it is done to create a full restore DVD so in case the customer messes up his machine all he needs to do then is to pop in the DVD, a menu is suppose to show up and he can image his machine and it will appear then the same way he got it from us. Does anyone knows how to do it or has a link for a website showing it? Thank you!
  2. Hi, where can I find Martin's (FireGeier) UpdateDVD.bat?
  3. No, but why don't u just ask directly here and we can help you out? Where is your specific problem?
  4. Hi there, has anyone further information about having 2 NICs inside a WDS server? What we wanna do is using one NIC for regular PE-CD based deployment of Vista via imagex and the other NIC will be used as a DHCP Server for Bare Metal Installation. Edit// Or maybe it can be done easier since we have a DHCP server already in our network environment. But how should we set the WDS server up in order to PXE boot the machines and that they will install Vista then from there.
  5. I'm developing a installer application which will start Chipset, Wireless, Gigabit Ethernet, Onboard Sound and Graphics Adapter, Intel QuickResume and many more for one of our custom made PCs. If you want to know more I can probably help you out. The language used is Delphi 10!
  6. Hi, #2 is exactly what I want. We want to create a test image with different testing and benchmarking applications which don't need to be installed. We have all files in their folders and just want to add those folders to the install.wim as you mentioned. Could you show me how to create this image with imagex so that I'm able to make a PE CD? I assume it will work like the other installations with a configset right? Thank you very much in advance.
  7. Hi folks, got a question. Is it possible to copy a application from the server where Vist is on to the target machine? I know I can install application with the component but we don't need to install that application we just want to copy the folder with all files onto the Desktop and run that application (Burn-In) from there. Or if someone knows a method to slipstream it into the Vista PE that would help as well. Thank you!
  8. Hi, I'm actually working on it and I will provide a manual as soon as I can say it will work satisfactorily. So stay tuned for a update in this Thread!
  9. Hi, I have such problems with Vista OPK that I could through it out, but I'm staying calm.. When it comes to the command: g:\vista> setup /unattend:g:\configsets\homeprem\autounattend.xml Vista says that the specific path cannot be found. BUT: when I go into configsets\homeprem the autounattend.xml is there AND when I go back to g:\vista> and retype setup /unattend:g:\configsets\homeprem\autounattend.xml it works. Does anyone know why?
  10. Hi guys, thanks for your attempt to help me out here. OK I'm pretty new in all that system builder business here and it is hard for me to understand all those things although I went to a Vista OPK training day here in San Diego. So let me try to explain in again. We cannot use the bare metal installation method right now and we are still using the old school method over the network with at PE CD which is about 200 MB big! I'm using the System Image Manager to create the answer file and then I'm using the DOS console to create that image with imagex etc. I have a shared folder on the server with our company logo in it and a F6 folder for Intel RAID driver in it. That looks like it works so far. But for some boards we need to add the LAN driver specific for that board. That is my main concern right now. Another issue we have right now is that we have to punch in all of those infos by hand. Wpeinit Net use g: \\vistaopk\winbits /user:vistaopk\install install g: cd \vista setup /unattend:g:\configsets\configset1\autounattend.xml although I altered the startnet.cmd with those infos, and made a new cd with that altered file it is not working. The prompt is waiting for my to punch in the data to install Vista. Thank you so much again!
  11. Hi, thank you. Yes I'm trying to create a base image for all those boards with Onboard LAN. Some are not supported from Vista and therefore, it is not possible for us to install Vista without putting in a external PCI-LAN-Card first! Hm, but with that peimg command you mentioned, isn't that only for F6 RAID drivers? Thank you again!
  12. Hi everyone, is it possible to add Onboard LAN-Card drivers into the Vista-PE? We are a system builder and have lots of different boards with onboard LAN adapters. Since we can start selling Vista now we would like to know if it is possible and if so how do we have to to this in Windows System Image Manager! Thank you!
