  1. Hi, I know this might seem like a daft reply but try the device on another machine, if it does the same on a different machine then it's the device that has issues and not the copy of windows, could save you a couple of hours install and config time then. Regards Scott
  2. Try Teamviewer, completely free and available in the repository. http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx
  3. Hi, Are these machines logging onto a domain? If they arn't then try the autologin feature built into XP. Start Run type "Control userpasswords2" press enter If there is a tick in the top box then take it out, click apply then specify the account you want to log on with, they then have no choice but to use the account you have created, unless they logoff of course then log in as who they want to but would they do this? Hope this helps. scott
  4. Why don't you just try running the install and see what happens, if it doesn't find the hdd then thats when you need to start looking for drivers. If it does find the hdd then thats a bonus :-)
  5. Hi, Microsoft removed the shortcut bar in this version of office but there is another way of creating your own, did a quick search in google and found this http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009...icle.asp?ID=327 It involves creating a toolbar on the taskbar and dragging it onto the desktop. Hope this helps.
  6. This might be something and nothing but I thought i'd take a look at that program. I use avast antivirus and it pops up and says it contains W32.dialupass Might not be a virus but just be carefull either way. An alternative that you could try is SIW, its very good and has some very very usefull tools built in and can be downloaded here for free :- http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html Enjoy
  7. Hi, If i'm not mistaken I think that is a blacklisted serial code. I suggest you try another code and see how you go from there. I've used that code before and it doesn't let you run any updates.
  8. Hi everybody, hope you are all well. This is my first post so I hope the answer isnt somewhere else in the forums, tried the search facility but didnt see anything obvious. If it has already been answered and I missed it then I appologise in advance. Has anybody come across this problem before using Nlite :- Created an unattended install with 2 users created - Administrator with a password and Teacher with no password with the only box ticked being 'no password' in the options for the teacher. All installs correctly but I cant see an option in Nlite to choose "password never expires" and because this option isnt available then windows xp asks for the password to be changed after a few weeks. Because a password has been provided for the administrator account then this option is checked by default in Windows and will never ask for it. It's not a major problem as you can just go in and set it on first boot but I wasnt aware of it until someone contacted me asking why they only had 1 day left to use their account unless they changed the password when they didnt even have a password in the first place LOL! Cheers Scott
