  1. that had to be it. And uni, i did an advanced extrapolating of the inverse times ten to the nearest negative interger to come to the determination that the overhead denominator of the positive imaginary number squared when multiplied, equals out to BALL HAIR. LOL :eek:

    So i take it,that's a [b:61bb74a6b3]YES[/b:61bb74a6b3] :confused :)

  2. Have you tried another psu.I had the same fault on my machine a while back.I checked all the connections on the mobo,still no joy.Then fit a new psu and no problem since.

    The transformer in a psu stores the current every time you shutdown,so that when you cold boot it doesn't put such an immediate strain on it.If the transformer is faulty it won't hold the charge.

    One thing you can do before laying out for a new psu is,open it up and give the cooling fans a good clean.A lot of people clean the inside of their pc case,but seem to overlook the psu.Hope that helps Boogs.

    Here's a link for possible other solutions;

    :eek:[b:36d8840cc7]XPerties[/b:36d8840cc7] I mentioned the bios because it may not have fully supported the hardware.There is a method in my madness :)

  4. Have you tried switching the lines in the boot.ini so that ME boots first?

    [operating systems]

    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Microsoft windows ME" /fastdetect

    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

  5. I think you definately have a memory problem,because you say you are getting identical beep signals,whether the RAM is installed or not.Is the 512mb RAM on one stick?If it is try putting it in the other dimm slots.I have heard that some Abit KT7 series boards are temperamental using 512mb singles.For reference,number 1 slot is the farthest away from the cpu.Have you tried another stick of memory?Each time you move the RAM reset the CMOS.Hope that helps.Good luck
