I now have an upgrade disc and I will try to customize it and report back to you. Regards Were you or anyone else able to get this to work with an upgrade version of Windows 7? Thanks Mike
No since I dont have one but they should be exactly the same as a original W7 disc, I suggest you tried:) I have tried and it doesn't work. Glad to hear you got an upgrade disc, Blue. Let me know how it works for you. Thanks Mike
No, it wasn't from an OEM. This is the one I bought: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002DHGM50/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B002JYU5WI&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=14J75PDCAPNN4M5H9Q41
I tried deleting that file and it didn't seem to change anything. It's still saying it won't install on this disc w/o a previous version of Windows. Any other ideas? Thanks Mike
Can you use an upgrade disc to create an unattended install of Windows 7? I have an upgrade disc of Windows 7 Pro x64. I know there are methods to do a clean install from the upgrade disc. My ultimate goal is to copy the unattended install to my 8GB XT flash drive and use that. Has anyone here used an upgrade disc for this? Or is everyone using the full install disc? Thanks Mike
Are any people creating unattended installs with upgrade discs? Or is everyone using the full blown Windows 7 discs? I have an upgrade disc and tried to do an unattended install with 7Customizer and I ran into the issue of Microsoft not letting me install w/o a previous version. Thanks Mike
I'm working on the first(best) method using SFX. Seems like a pretty sweet deal. I got it done up to step 10. Then I get a little fuzzy. Where do I stick the two files on my CD? And how do I run them in the setup? Thanks Mike
I have windows xp x64 and am trying to make a fully unattended setup with all the goodies. On my tests the setup is stopping at this screen. I've changed the winnt.sif file multiple times. Here is mine. Can someone help. Thanks Mike woops, forgot to take out the key WINNT.SIF
I actually just finally figured the problem out, for me at least. I went in to look at my nlite.inf file. It was loaded full of the same lines adding users from the many times that I ran nlite. So I deleted all the lines that were the same and it worked perfect! Sweet!!
I've been having that exact same problem. It will create a "username" profile and a "username.compname" profile. And I have no idea how to fix it. Sorry.
I'm getting this exact same error when using nlite. Is there any way to get this to work without using the seperate user creation tool? I don't feel like adding another program to my installation. thanks Mike
