March 12, 201115 yr Can you use an upgrade disc to create an unattended install of Windows 7? I have an upgrade disc of Windows 7 Pro x64. I know there are methods to do a clean install from the upgrade disc. My ultimate goal is to copy the unattended install to my 8GB XT flash drive and use that. Has anyone here used an upgrade disc for this? Or is everyone using the full install disc?ThanksMike Edited March 12, 201115 yr by dmikester1
March 13, 201115 yr my upgrade disk I got from Dell some time ago was identical to a full install disk except the ei.cfg file in sources. just delete it
March 14, 201115 yr Author I tried deleting that file and it didn't seem to change anything. It's still saying it won't install on this disc w/o a previous version of Windows. Any other ideas?ThanksMike
March 14, 201115 yr Author No, it wasn't from an OEM. This is the one I bought: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002DHGM50/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B002JYU5WI&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=14J75PDCAPNN4M5H9Q41
