Incroyable HULK
In the morning of July 8 (friday), I used the BUY NOW option on eBay for 2 identical Item No. 5217189323 & 5217163850 (New Dell 24" LCD Ultrasharp Flat Panel Monitor 2405FPW).The BUY NOW option requested immediate payment and I fully paid the amount of 981.77$ CAD (778,99S USD for each monitors) using PayPal.In the morning of July 10 (sunday), I received 2 emails from eBay concerning the 2 items: Dear Incroyable HULK,The following is a notice from eBay Trust & Safety regarding: Item Number - 5217163850 Item Title - New Dell 24" LCD Ultrasharp Flat Panel Monitor 2405FPWOur records show that you placed a bid on this item. Do not respond to this email, as your reply will not bereceived.Regards,Customer Support (Trust and Safety Department)eBay IncSince I didn't get any information from the seller, I sent him 3 emails asking for information about this to theses address: jaimemag@hotmail.com & sihatchturbo@hotmail.com (eBay account = drtransexpert) BUT I didn't get any reply.I went thru the PayPal process to fill a claim and I had to wait 10 days (without knowing if I would even have a chance of recovering my money) to finally win the dispute (because the guy never answered)I got a refund of 885,65$ CAD for each monitor (748,31$ USD) so I am still missing 192.24$ CAD. Why?Speaking with 5 PayPal representative, I got a foggy picture.First, there is a 2.5% charge for the conversion going from USD to CAD for every transaction and the missing 30$ ???They tell me that they weren't able to recover the full 778,99$ USD amount. BUT how come I get 748,31$ twice? If this was true, I would have expected that the first refund would have been fully recovered and the second would be missing money.. no?I finally understand that 748,31$ is the amount they GAVE to the seller so the 30$ missing is their profit. They keep telling me that they will issue a refund when the seller has money in his account but we all know this will never happen. The bottom line for me is:1- You cannot cancel a PayPal transaction on your credit card2- You won't get any information thru the whole process. You don't even know if there is still money in the account of the seller to fufill the claim.3- PayPal doesn't want to pay for their mistakeEver wonder why Ebay and PayPal are F*&?ing rich company? Zxian
Eep... that sucks. I'm still confused on one part though - you said that there's still money left in his account after you had recieved your refund? How does that work exactly?
Incroyable HULK
I don't know if there is still money in his account but since I had 2 claims, why does the FIRST one isn't fully recovered (and then the missing fund would be on the second claim)? Both are identicalI forgot to mention that there was a 24H delay between the 2 claims... Edited August 3, 2005 by Incroyable HULK

Incroyable HULK
Well, a few months ago, I bought a DELL UltraSharp 2005FPW 20.1-inch Wide Aspect Flat Panel LCD and I got it for 600$ CAD (including shipping). That's a good deal considering it is always selling around 950$ CAD on their canadian website... http://accessories.dell.com/sna/category.a...DHS1&l=en&s=dhsThis time, I had 2 x Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW 24-inch Wide Aspect Flat Panel LCD Monitor for 1000$ CAD and they always sell around 1400$ so that's a good deal...Anyhow, I would have bought 2 of these monitors 1 month earlier at 1020$ but I had a PayPal limit of 1000$ so I lost the deal and nothing of this would have happened. *CRAP* Edited August 3, 2005 by Incroyable HULK

mark
So Ebay/Paypal cancelled the transaction and kept the transaction fee. There has got to be a bad word for that. Sounds illegal and immoral also.DL
skunkwerkz
What was the sellers feedback rating? I am very careful to check this on "Buy Now with Immed Payment Required. " I have had a seller be unable to send the Item had already paid for Via Paypal, they have always refunded the exact I even haved paid twice and it was reversed same amount. If it was Fruad they should be obligated to trace the $$$$$ or the deto the person.Delivery address of merch purchased or cash disbursementsWhat was the reason that Ebay ended the auction what evidence did the have?
