PeterS
Hi,At work I have used Ghost with sysprep images to be able to fast re-install users PC's.We have been running win2k but now our new Dell laptops is running XP pro.I would like to pre install the software we use and sysprep the XP, but I am not sure if one can do that, as XP has some kind of activation thing.I would like to use the XP CD that came with DELL to be sure there is no problems with licenses. Some in our company are starting to talk about RIS also. I dont really know RIS, but I guess there is the same problem with XP activation?Im sure this can be fixed, but dont know how PS.Im planning to use the Dell XP Ghost image only for the Dell laptops that came with the Dell XP. IcemanND
If you use the preinstalled system that Dell put on you should not have to Activate it again after running sysprep. From what I recall if you reload with the cd it will ask you to reactivate.
PeterS
Ok, guess I just have to test it. But how do I know that all is ok?
