You didn't miss much it seems.

Apparently its just another Apple's "much ado about nothing".

all the same pages loaded on Safari visibly slower, most of the time good 1+sec slower than K-Meleon did on the large pages, and in few cases it was like 3-4 sec slower! NOT EVEN ONE PAGE LOADED FASTER ON SAFARI, including Apple's own homepage.
