resizing system partiton

is it possible to resize the system partition without destroying it/making it unbootable? i made mine way too big and im running out of room on the other partition.

just resize it, it wont destroy the data. i would use acronis or parition magic to make sure that it goes right tho.

in vista does it do that? ive resized once using vista's disk manager and it went fine. but i still prefer using acronis.

I think the GUID for Vista depends on the beginning partition offset, not the ending. so if your beginning partition offset changes, then Vista will be unbootable.

maybe that was it, i also found out that partition magic isnt vista compatible, so i just downloaded paragon hard disk manager which i used to use back on XP and it says its vista compatible

edit: just my luck it doesnt work under vista 64 i cant seem to find one that is. I'll just do it under XP Pro when i re-install it since my LG vx8300 wont work under vista and drivers wont be available until late june. so im just gonna make a stripped XP to save space since i'll barely ever use it

thanks, but i just noticed (by looking at comp. management) that my c drive is the 2nd partition on that disk, so it would change the beginning offset

i might reinstall vista when nuhi comes out with vlite 1.0 final because i definately dont need 36gb for my system partition, well ill see how much space it will take up once i have all my games installed
