xtcman Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 The OEM CD Key that the sticker has won't work on a streamlined install cd i made for myself from OTHER non-OEM install disc. I'm being forced to use the install disc (which just has a norton ghost image of the system), but i don't trust installing SP2 and newer updates after installing the system, i've had sucky experiences. Is this normal ?
Kelsenellenelvian Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 Yes it is FULLY normal an OEM disc takes a different key than a retail disc.
xtcman Posted June 16, 2007 Author Posted June 16, 2007 thanks.is there a place where i can fetch a winxp OEM iso image to use with my key ?
jroc Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 (edited) the reason it don't work is because the PID for your XP isn't a OEM PID Edited June 16, 2007 by Shark007 info removed - topic closed
