kuroiryu Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 I would like use PNGs as icon symbols instead of ICOs.Is it possible to build some of that into the next version of XPize?Greetskuroi-ryu
XPero Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Windows works with .ico file types for representing icons and there is no way to change that. I hope I have unserstood your suggestion correctly.
kuroiryu Posted June 8, 2007 Author Posted June 8, 2007 You understood it correctly. I also know that Windows XP uses ICO as icon symbols and not PNG and normally it can't be changed, but so I thought in this project it would be possible to integrate this kind of function. PNG can be used as icons in Linux and in Vista I guess.Maybe there is a possibility to use PNG as icon symbols in XP with XPize, I would vote for it.And in my sight it is neccessary for an actual OS. ;-)
XPero Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Vista does not allow PNG files as icons. Also, what you want will require expert programming skills if possible at all.
kuroiryu Posted June 11, 2007 Author Posted June 11, 2007 Vista doesn't support PNG as icons? The new symbols are ICO already? Maybe another reason to not buy Vista. *g*Okay, but is it possible to integrate such a function like Linux? Even it requires expert programming skills the XPize team is able to do so?Maybe you include this function, was just an idea.
XPero Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 The XPize team (me) is not able to do so, and I think that nobody can do that.
