Textmode or PnP

I haven't found a good explanation of how to choose between TEXTMODE and PnP integration of drivers.

The drivers I am most concerned about are my WinXP Promise SATA378 controller and my VIA SATA RAID controller. I have a MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R motherboard, if that helps. But, I just need to figure out TEXTMODE vs PnP.

install them as textmode drivers if the controller you are adding is the controller you will boot your os from. if it is a secondary controller and not used for booting it does not need to be added as a text mode driver.
