import inf file for boot.inf instead of using

Featured Replies

Hello win98 users. I woundering if there is away to import boot.inf into the boot secetor instead of using autoexec.bat to have the boot options in inf file system.

is there anyway to import this boot.inf just like nt windows 5?

You certainly mean boot.ini, the config file used by ntldr when booting 2K or XP or a multiboot system with any of those two OSes.

It's got nothing to do with autoexec.bat AFAIK.

Unless I am wrong, boot.ini just tells ntldr to which partition's boot sector it must jump to, ie, which OS it must boot.

Anyway your post is very difficult to decipher, could you clarify what you exactly mean / want to do ?

what i see is that microsoft replaced autoexec with boot.ini in xp. I'm woudering if it is possible to create one just like it for 98. the autoexec.bat is emtyed nonething in the autoexec.bat. i think the boot.ini tells nt os to go with the partation that it has and switchs.

do you think this is possible to do also?

there is always away.
