swiftflo Posted January 17, 2002 Posted January 17, 2002 Every time I open Outlook 2002 to pick up my emails I am greeted with the anoyance of a box popping up and asking me to "enter networking password". I am not connected to any network, anyone with any idea's how to stop this popping up and I would be most grateful.
Big Booger Posted January 17, 2002 Posted January 17, 2002 open outlookgo to tools, accounts, click on your pop mail accountconnection make sure you have the box checked for your internet service, if you are a dialup user make sure the box for LAN is unchecked or grayed out, otherwise it will prompt you for your Lan password.Big Booger:cool:
swiftflo Posted January 19, 2002 Author Posted January 19, 2002 Sorry Big Booger, I am on Outlook 2002 and there are no Accounts in the Tools on my version of Outlook 2002 only Email Accounts and this requires my pop mail server to be entered anyway to receive mail. Your suggestion therefore could not be tried. However although I use Outlook 2002 for email I have found that if I set up an account in Outlook Express then I do not receive the annoying popup box.
Big Booger Posted January 19, 2002 Posted January 19, 2002 email accounts, accounts....its all biscuits and gravy to me.Big Booger
LS_Dragons Posted January 30, 2002 Posted January 30, 2002 Similar to Big Booger's instructions but in 2002:Tools --> Email AccountsClick on View or Change and click nextHighlight the account you want to work with and Double-ClickLook at the Log On Information - Should have User name and Password. Below password is a box to 'remember password' Make sure that is checked. Now click on Test -- see if all is good.LS
