How old is my hardware

A client has been sold a "new" server, but I really don't think the hardware is new. Is there any way I can find out the age of the motherbaord and, most importantly, the hard drives?

There are usually dates of manufacturer which you can find on the individual parts.

If it's a custom built machine, that won't be possible.

You could query the data with WMI, but the best way is to pop it open and take down serial numbers and part numbers for anything you can access. If you think it's old, why specifically?
