hamish Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 HelloA client has been sold a "new" server, but I really don't think the hardware is new. Is there any way I can find out the age of the motherbaord and, most importantly, the hard drives?THanskHamish
jcarle Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 There are usually dates of manufacturer which you can find on the individual parts.
S.SubZero Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Check the website of the company that makes the server?
prx984 Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Check the website of the company that makes the server? If it's a custom built machine, that won't be possible.
cluberti Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 You could query the data with WMI, but the best way is to pop it open and take down serial numbers and part numbers for anything you can access. If you think it's old, why specifically?
hamish Posted May 24, 2007 Author Posted May 24, 2007 Thank you for all your help. I'll open the case and grab the serialsCheersHamish
