Reverend Posted January 17, 2002 Posted January 17, 2002 Has anyone managed to get Midtown Madness 2 to run in XP.The graphics are terrible.Parts of the roads are patchy and only appear when i drive over them. Also the cars have no wheels. The only way i can run it is by setting the video to software mode(which looks crap).Compatibility mode doesn't work either, and the official patch made no difference.I'm running a Creative Geforce 2 GTS with 23.11 Det's. Thanx. :confused
Aaron Posted January 18, 2002 Posted January 18, 2002 Midtown Madness 2 in XP runs fine on my machine. I would say that its a graphics driver problem, not a compatibility problem on your PC.
Reverend Posted January 18, 2002 Author Posted January 18, 2002 I think i may of grabbed a s*** copy from Morpheus. The demo version runs fine.I'll try another download.
jas Posted January 20, 2002 Posted January 20, 2002 Midtown 2 hates GForce2`s, there`s a patch at ms`s midtown2 site that fixes the problem.
Big Booger Posted January 20, 2002 Posted January 20, 2002 Reverend the patch is for the intel chipset, but it has been stated that it fixes problems with voodoo and Geforce cards as well, but since you tried it, I'd say you have a bunk download of it. Just redownload, and post your results. YOu can try the link below for the new downloaded version if it is screwed too.Big Boogerhttp://mm2c.btwracing.com/services/downloa...le=mm2patch.exe
Reverend Posted January 25, 2002 Author Posted January 25, 2002 Microsoft have finally released a patch for Geforce cards, and it works :eek:http://www.microsoft.com/games/midtown2/
