Geckotek Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 After running MSBA, it comes up w/ a few issues. A couple are "version is greater than expected." I'm assuming I can ignore this? Also, a get a few that say it can't verify the existence of certain hotfixes (not that they are not there or anything....just can't veryify.) Should I be concerned?Thx.
Aaron Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 I've got that too, I don't think MS have updated their cab file for MBSA for a while.
Westi Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 (edited) I prefer to use HfNetCheck ~15 MB, 'cause you don't need windows-update and get detailed information of needed and installed patches with KB- and Q-numbers on all comp's in your network (if you want).Type hfnetchk /? to get more help (console window).database is dated 16/10.Is this newer than MS' ?EDIT:NO,NO use this hfnetchk for console , i don't realize the size of the link above, i'm really ... Aaron Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 16/10 seems new, its the last date when MS released 4 updates and the rollup.btw, got a screenie of Hfnetchk in action? I've only used the command prompt version.
Westi Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 Well, the command prompt version is OK.I prefer the good ol' command window.I'm a DOS-freak and like switches and s/w windows Sorry, for posting the link to the overdosed, heavyweight GUI-Version.. :/ shame on me..

Aaron Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 looks nice, does it give you direct links to the hotfix files themselves to download?
Westi Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 have installed in but it never shows up like the Roll-Up for Windows XP that says that its not installed but it isI know, but if you try to install again, you get less windows to confirm. Normally you get an uninstall option.I have no suggestions to this behaviour, typically MS..
DaveXP Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 Yes it does but you must be registed to do that.Screen Shot.
Westi Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 looks nice, does it give you direct links to the hotfix files themselves to download? With console version: No, but if you use MS-KB Searchand copy/paste the MS0x-xxx you get detailed info's about the patch.
