MAVERICKS CHOICE
After recently slipstreaming some Vista drivers into my install have found many will install in a live system without too much trouble. Is there any way of identifying problem drivers before I build my test UA install.I don't want to install these by trial & error & not know which driver caused the install to halt. This is the case in Vista as install error screen does not show specific unsigned or qualifying driver?
FireGeier
Hello MC!If setups does stop / fail you should have entries in the logs - setupact.log and setuperr.log in %Windir%\Panther\UnattendGC. If setup has not finished you would need any system on Media - like Bart PE or simple WinPE 2.0 to get these files from your hd.Regards,Martin
MAVERICKS CHOICE
@MartinThere is no errors appearing in the setuperr.log?? & setupact.log is a bloody long file.Do you know what section the drivers install at? Mine seems to be all over the shop?
FireGeier
Hello MC!Well it's not that easy to find such an error. I would first list all Device IDs on your system and than search for this device IDs inside setupact.log. There is a tool comming with BDD 2007 which is called Microsoft.BDD.PnpEnum.exe listing all device IDs on a system.Regards,Martin
