Win Server 2003 IIS access from internet

Hi all

I was hoping some1 could help me with a little problem i seem to be having.

Ive setup a Windows Server 2003 with domain and IIS services (ftp and http) and I can access them both from my LAN but not from the internet.

ATM its connected:

Cable-modem -> Cnet Router -> Computers and Server.

In the Cnet Router I have forwarded ports 21, 80 and 3389 (remote desktop) to my server, and heres the weird part: Remote Desktop works perfectly from the Internet.

Usually I sit at work on remote desktop to my server trying to get this thing online, but no matter what I do I cannot access the ftp or the http services...

Any help is Very welcome!!

how are you trying to connect? by IP? is there any firewall setup on the windows 2003 machine?

A lot ISPs block those ports, it may be the case with your ISP as well.

Try to telnet into ports 21 & 80, if you can get the server's banner responce then your ISP & router are OK.

FTP will say: 220 Microsoft FTP Service

HTTP will require that you type quit then press [Enter] befor responding:

HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request

Content-Type: text/html

Date: Mon, 14 May 2007 10:53:19 GMT

Connection: close

Content-Length: 35

<h1>Bad Request (Invalid Verb)</h1>

Connection to host lost.

I hate my ISP. Both 21 & 80 are blocked...

The norwegian ISP called GET is no good.

Cant get static IP and they refuse to open the ports...

Its actually a good thing they block the ports. It increases the security of THEIR network.

What you can do is run IIS on non-standard ports, ie: 8080 for web and 2121 for FTP.

Yeah, thats what im doing now, and it works ok, but having to type :8080 behind my webadress isnt very nice...
