Font Screwed Up

After apply the updates that came out 10/15 some of the fonts on my systems are now screwed up, after looking at the updates exploded I didn't see any fonts in them.

Anyone have an idea?

Everything seems to be fine on my system after the install of the new updates. What do you mean when you say they are screwed up?

It appears to only be affecting one application. but it has done it on four different systems.

It condensed the font so that its about half the normal width.

If I run system restore to a point before the updates install its fine.

I Haven't had the opportunity yet to install the four updates one at a time yet. I didn't install the rollup as I already had all of the updates in it installed on the systems.

The other three other than mine had the updates automatically installed last night.

Which app is causing the problem and can the font size be set in that app?

the application is a Point of Sale System Client. The font sizes cannot be set within the application, as far as I have ever been able to tell.

Fortunately system restore returned the systems to a properly functioning state.

Now I'm instaling the updates one at a time to see which kills it.

After using system restore to go back before I installed the hotfixes, and having reinstalled each one by itself. the culprit is KB824141.

According to M$ it only updates Msgsvc.dll, and User32.dll.

Which the msgsvc.dll on my machine is already the same version as what the patch installs, but user32.dll is v5.1.2600.1134, patch installs v5.1.2600.1255.
