malloy0 Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 WMP11 Skin Mode vs Full Mode -DEFAULT PLAY - FILE OPEN SETTING?Hi,The attached PDF file can show pictorially my problem and where, what I need help on. The verbal explanation is below.I am unable to get WMP11 in the Full Mode to play videos when opened after double clicking a VIDEO file (*.mpg, *.avi, *.mpeg, etc) in Full Mode so that is actually SHOWS or PLAYS the video on the PC screen. The audio portion of the video plays fine, NO video. BUT...When I switch from Full Mode and go to Skin Mode, select the CORPORATE skin, the video and audio work 100% fine. Selecting any other skin does NOT show video only audio. Odd isn't it? Also, this applies to all video types. I have also set WMP11 as the default player for ALL file types. Lastly, when I switch to FULL SCREEN the WMP11 plays video and audio with the Full Mode controls appearing correctly at the bottom of the screen.More info....What I did?I adjusted the check mark setting in the VIEW menu on the menu bar, last evening so WMP11 runs in Skin Mode, just to see what it looks like. When Iexit WMP11 and doule click a video file it opens and plays video and sound but in SKIN mode. While playing I switch to FULL mode, but the video stopsplaying, the top BLUE "NOW PLAYING" shows at the top, but again no video. I switc jback to SKIN mode and waa-laa, video plays. I exit and double clock a video file, the video file opens and plays in SKIN mode, switch to FULL MODE exit and go through the same process but NO video in FULL mode.I am running XP Pro WMP 11 11.0.5721.5145 on a company domain (at home right now) and logged on as a local user with admin rights, but same thing happens at work, Also, cannot uninstall WMP11 nor update due to our company network guys limiting WinUpdate access to everyone via GPO.I am hoping there are some registry seeting that are awry, but??????Hopefull this makes sense. So HELP??Thanks...MikeWMP11_Mode_Issue.pdf
