hi tc/tp! would it be alright for HFSLIP to block ie6 HFs for HF users, say hard code it? was just thinking since it is the main cause for broken installation of ie7? (the same may be true for wmp9 users where HFSLIP may block wmp10 HFs & the same applies for wmp10 and wmp11 users ). thanks!

I know it would make things easier for you but it's not feasible. The "black list" would have to be updated every time new IE hotfixes are released and I'd have to do a long investigation to find all the IE hotfixes which have been released in the past.

It's easy for Windows 2000 because there the IE version is always mentioned in the executable's name. But then the user can deal with it too.

thanks TC! i was just merely thinking that it would do not just me but the others good as well since i've seen it done somehow (i.e., DST KBs being blocked) in previous test rels ...

And they still are in the current final. We are talking about KB928388 and KB929120. But there have been many more IE6 updates...
