m4ximus Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 After reinstalling WinXP and applying all of the latest patches and hotfixes im not able to install Visual Studio 2005 Pro, im getting error that "failed to install MSXML 6.0 Parser". i attempted to find a way to uninstall/delete it or reinstall it and failed. i tried to intall the latest service pack version of MSXML 6.0 SP1 msi and getting erro that "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation", i look for the policy which prevents this and could not find any, but am able to find the policy files under C:\Windows\WinSX\x86_Microsoft.MSXML2_6.... and another C:\Windows\WinSX\x86_Microsoft.MSXML2R_6....this is killing me right now, apparently i already have MSXML 6.0 installed but visual studio does not detect it and attempts to intall it anyways meaning it probebly does not detect that a higher version already exists.any suggestions how to resolve this issue?-m4ximus
Jeremy Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Contact your system administrator. If that's you, then you're obviously not logged in under that account.
