LeveL Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I don't want the "Format..." option on the right click ofmy disk drives, I have removed the "format.com" file but justneed to get rid of the context menu item, anyone know of atweak to remove it?I have searched Google and this forum, to no avail...
LeveL Posted March 21, 2007 Author Posted March 21, 2007 I searched the registry for these terms...FormatForm&atFormat...Form&at...It does not appear in the registry. So I wonder if it is in hex values?Nope, because I already searched for the hex equivelant.Methinks nobody knows how to get rid of this I have been trying for almost 2 hours.
neo Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 I don't know exact registry but here is suggestion.Navigate to : HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shellexand backup first the existing registry and try to del and check the result one by one.I hope, U should get Ur solution.
phaolo Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 One by one?? Anyway, I've got the same problem but only with shorcuts. Can it be done more easily?I'd like to see the link menu with right click, not the drive options (with "format")
