Undefined Posted January 13, 2002 Share Posted January 13, 2002 I want to replace the bitmap of the computer thats shown when you right click My computer and go to propertys and the location of the file is C:WindowsSystem32sysdm.cpl In resource hacker i replace the image with my own and try and save but i get the error "Resource Hacker cannot create C:Windowssystem32sysdm.cpl"any help is very apreciated :hohum Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Aaron Posted January 13, 2002 Share Posted January 13, 2002 This is because the file is probably in use, make a backup of sysdm.cpl, call it sysdm_original.cpl or something. Resource hack sysdm.cpl and save it as sysdm_new.cplBoot into safe mode and open up command prompt, and type:Copy C:WindowsSystem32sysdm_new.cpl C:WindowsSystem32sysdm.cplThen press Y when prompted.
