PurpleMarquis Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 I'm creating a Windows XP install disc for a friends Toshiba laptop as he doesn't have the original anymore. Now I've discovered the existance of a program named OEMscan which make it better. OEMscan effectively makes it an original Toshiba disc which not need be activated by recognising its Royalty OEM BIOS during the install. But the instructions on how to use it are very vague. They could mean it works a couple of ways and I don't know which (if not both) are correct.Hypothetical ways it works:Modify files DURING installOEMscan.exe is called during the install and it modifies the OEM files of the insall files which have been copied to the HD.Modify files BEFORE installOr some how you modify the files which are on the CDUnfortunately there are no step by step instructions and they are also not clear enough for me to work out the propper course of action. And for that matter, perhaps there is another (better/easier) way of rolling this into nLite.Assistance with this would be appreciated by both me and my bleeding head which has been smacked against the wall on this subject for many hours
