Well that so called new XP is not official, you probably picked up some of the pre-tweaked ones with integrated hotfixes. Please use only clean Windows, if you need updates use some of the Update packs or integrate hotfixes with nLite.

nLiting and applying the Dutch Feb Update Pack on Windows XP with SP2 integrated, I get above error message.

After pressing OK, nLite continues but the installation of the resulting image is half-baked.

I went searching and found a section and a MS KB page

what to do?

You can modify entries.ini to fix this bug!

change mfc40u.dll to mfc40uu.dll.

===================================

[dosnet_files]

d1,mfc40uu.dll

[txtsetup_files]

mfc40uu.dll = 100,,,,,,,2,0,0,mfc40u.dll

[i386_compress]

rvmtemp\extracted\mfc40uu.dll
