startrekrobs Posted February 10, 2007 Author Posted February 10, 2007 mmm.exe is loaded by some addon I got off of these sites, I don't no which one addon it was, but a link I found by searching the forum says that is mmm.exe is KelsPakSoft, it seems to be a virus/spyware. ... Pour mmm.exe je me suis planté, j'ai cherché beaucoup trop vite dans google désolé. ...my question is why do you let virus/spyware into your addons ?? I disabled and remove mmm.exe from my hard drive , the avast scanners never detects a as either virus or spyware http://www.google.com/custom?ie=UTF-8&...A1%3B&hl=enlink to search of mmm
Kelsenellenelvian Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 You are the first person to report mmm.exe as a virus m8. Calm down. Let me find the link to their homepage.http://www.hace.us-inc.com/mmm.shtmlThis is not a virus!
Kelsenellenelvian Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 It sounds to me like you need to stop using addons or make your own!
startrekrobs Posted February 10, 2007 Author Posted February 10, 2007 (edited) maybe mmm was included into another install and I just don't notice it, when you add a lot of stuff it seems hard to keep track of all the addons, after you make the cd or dvd copy of it, their is not much you can do when not all the addons showup under xp as addons, ok anyway one question I got is why does the search on the forums for mmm bring that text up that says this mmm.exe is KelsPakSoft, it seems to be a virus/spyware. , I was not saying that it was a virus/spyware but this search on the forum for mmm.exe says this in the first link, so how could I be the first one to post it as a virus spyware if someone else made this link in the first place?? Kelsenellenelvian Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Ah I see the relevant entry now.mmm.exe was placed in your install by my uber pack. All it is is the customization of your right click menu to make it have a sub menu and therefore less entries on the main section. As for this issue if you wish to discover more about my addon go to the post at ryans forums (Where you downloaded it from).Unless if you downloaded your copy of windows then I cannot guarantee the cleanness of your iso and the files contained therin.
startrekrobs Posted February 10, 2007 Author Posted February 10, 2007 (edited) my copy of windows is a real windows xp upgrade version of the os, my parents buyed the upgrade xp pro version, it is not download only thing downloaded are the addons and stuff like thatI have used nlite for some time, the only other thing is with nlite versioCustomized by nLite v1.2 RC - www.nliteos.comComponents removed:list of componets lost that seems to happen more than once with nlite I think its a bug where you remove more and it loses the info on the page , also with this version I used to make a cd custom version the custom themes seem broken they are listed but it only shows the default windows xp skin and classic mode , the tweak to allow other themes seemed to get broken with this version I got the installer file to fix this problem after install , using the patch program called UXTheme Multi-Patcher 5.0.exe which allow the themes to work again, it broke in the install of this version even thou the custom themes installed they were unusable by default Edited February 10, 2007 by startrekrobs
