Guys I installed Windows Vista Ultimate before couple of days, but the whole time while vista is open i can hear and see my HDD working, performance is stable but i wonder why is that!! is it something working on the background which i can disable?!!

Intel 3.2

2GB RAM

Geforce 8800GTS

Sound Audigy2 ZS

HDD Maxtor SATA 120GB

it's superfetch

go to start-> type services

find superfetch, right-click, select disabled and click stop

It's very likely to be the Windows Search indexing, turn it off if you don't need it. The search will still work but slower.

Then check the task scheduler for defragmenter status and set it when you want.

well i did that, seems to be better now, hopefully will stay like that.. ty guys will be back to u if it happens again
