BoardBabe Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I have a problem with my Acer TM8100LMi. My battery lasts about 50min on power saving in Vista. However the battery indicator shows from 100% to 97% and then all of a sudden pops up "critical battery" warning at 6%. There is no indication in between. Why is this?

Vista supports a newer ACPI revision, that maybe your bios implements but in a buggy way.
Biohead Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Maybe its the battery not giving a proper reading. I know my old laptop would drop from about 60% to 10% within seconds simply because the batteries were just getting old.I don't know if there are any recalibrating tools that'll do the job sorry.
3aces Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 there should be a calibration tool in the bois of your laptop, give that a hot if it still does it then time for new batt's
BoardBabe Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 The Acer BIOS I am running is very limited, I can not find any calibration for the battery there However as I recall this started already in WindowsXP and might definatly be the hardware failing.Do I have to buy a new bat?
3aces Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 oooooooooooohmmm let me get back to you.....in the mean while discharge you battery complety.....and charge it to 100%.then discharge it again and fully charge it again....hopefully it might fix it.........
