CRC errors on Exchange Server

I have been seeing CRC errors on my Exchange Server CPQNTAC utility for the last few days, multiplying at the rate of about 500 errors over a period of 24 hours on an average. Considering that CRC errors could be hardware related I swapped the NIC, changed cables, and changed port on the core switch but this did not resolve the issue,

. It does seem to be within our network as our ISP has cleared their T1 lines.

Any ideas or comments on this issue would be appreciated.

MSExchange 5.5 sp4 on NT Server sp6.

CRC ERRORS DURING HIGH SPEED DOWNLOADS/Data transfers

This problem can be caused by many factors.

If you use an external modem, check to see if the serial card has a 16550 UART. The buffer size of your UART may be too small.

Slower computers may not be able to support high speed data transmissions effectively.

The CPU may be too busy compressing data to be written to the hard disk when the modem is sending new data. This causes the new data to be lost and which creates CRC errors.

Make sure your modem error correction/data compression is turned on. Go to Start, Setting, Control Panel, Modem, select your modem then go to Properties, Connection, Advanced, and make sure you have the User Error Control and Compress Data CHECKED.

Lowering the port speed will also slow down the data entering the system. This will allow your system to properly manage the data.
