can I change install dir for a downloadaded add-on?

Featured Replies

Novice question:

Can I change (by easy way) the default installation folder for

one add-on or switchless installation package?

For example:

1. I downloaded addon for opera (or firefox or another).

2. Slipstreamed into XP SP2 CD.

3. Run windows setup process.

Now opera (or firefox or another) will be silent installed

into program files folder during windows installation process.

But

I want to put opera in another custom dir,

for example D:\Internet\Browsers\Opera.

Exist a simple way to modify the addon for do that,

or I need to rebuild all addon

(or make a new one by myself since all of them put

all software into program files).

All advices are welcome and appreciated. Thx.

im not sure if u can modify that. but i just want to request all add-on makers to have a "standard" method of installing add-ons. for example do not change the default directory where the programs originally installs.

now for those programs that do not have installers, or standalone, maybe they should make it install only in "Programs Files/ Utilities" :hello:
